Location. Overlooking the Pacific Coast, the Hotel del Coronado is a historic landmark that occupies 28 acres of oceanfront property at Coronado Beach, Calif. The hotel is adjacent to Coronado Village and less than one mile from the Gaslamp Quarter in San Diego, Calif. San Diego International Airport is less than three miles from the hotel.
Hotel Features. The Hotel del Coronado's spa features 21 treatment rooms, hydrotherapy, relaxation areas and steam rooms. The on-site fitness center provides cardiovascular equipment, strength-training machines, fitness classes and personal training sessions. Offering a range of recreational activities, this family-friendly hotel provides opportunities for boating, bicycling, jet skiing, and special programs for children. The property offers 65,000-square-feet of meeting space with high-speed Internet access and multimedia capabilities. Two outdoor pools, a spa tub, a sauna and steam rooms are provided on-site. Indoor and outdoor dinners at 1500 Ocean include ocean views and a Southland Coastal menu featuring local coastal dishes. Babcock & Story serves tropical cocktails and fine wines. Of note, the carved bar was constructed in 1888 and shipped around Cape Horn in one piece.

Guestrooms. The Hotel del Coronado features a guestroom environment that includes detailed mahogany headboards, elaborate window treatments and ornate fabric patterns. The 679 guestrooms feature wicker-and- cane furnishings in addition to shuttered windows that open to Pacific breezes. Guestroom amenities include cable television and complimentary Internet access. Expert Tip. Guests of the Hotel del Coronado are privy to ghostly happenings in the room once occupied by Kate Morgan. Dating back to her death in 1892, people have witnessed flickering lights, breezes coming from nowhere, televisions turning on and off by themselves, odd smells and sounds, doors opening and closing on their own, unexplained voices and abrupt temperature changes. A book detailing the ghostly happenings can be purchased in the hotel's gift shop.
