Location. The historic Georgian Hotel in Santa Monica, Calif., is known as a former celebrity hideaway during the days of early Hollywood. During prohibition, the art-deco hotel housed a popular speakeasy and is now rumored to be haunted by certain unearthly guests. The hotel is opposite Palisades Park and two blocks from Santa Monica Beach and the famed Santa Monica Pier. Legendary shopping on Rodeo Drive is eight miles and Hollywood is 12 miles.
Hotel Features. The hotel features an oceanfront veranda for sunset viewing while sipping cocktails from the lobby bar. The lower-level Speakeasy Restaurant, available for special events, displays polished woods, red leather booths and velvet drapes, and was once the hangout of Bugsy Segal, Clark Gable, Carol Lombard and Fatty Arbuckle. Lunch is beautifully served at the hotel's Veranda restaurant. A business center provides convenience between meetings and a fitness room allows athletic guests to maintain their fabulous physiques. Meeting rooms are available and any necessary audiovisual equipment may be rented. On-site catering is also offered for any event.
