Vichy Springs Resort, a  two-hour drive on Highway US 101 north  of San Francisco, is California's oldest  continuously operating hot springs resort.    Opened between 1852 and 1854 the  original buildings have been completely  renovated and individually decorated.  Three of the buildings *circa 1852-1854*  at Vichy Springs Resort are the oldest  standing structures in Mendocino County.  Bed and Breakfast is offered in 18 rooms  and 8 self-contained cottages *2 are  disabled accessible*. A few feet from the  accommodations await the 10 bathing  tubs built in 1860 and used by the rich  and famous in California's history  including Jack and Charmaigne London,  Mark Twain, Teddy Roosevelt and his  daughter Alice, Ulysses Grant and  pugilists Jim Corbett and John L. Sullivan.  Vichy features the only naturally sparkling  90-degree Vichy mineral baths in North  America. Also included are the communal  hot soaking pool and Olympic size  swimming pool, which will gently caress  away your cares and stress. The baths  are back dropped by a five million-year  old travertine/onyx grotto formed around  the spring. Vichy has 700 acres for your    walking and hiking pleasure. Picnicking  and mountain biking are common on the  grounds. Vichy has rooms and      cottages for overnight stays and included in the rates      are the naturally carbonated warm and sparkling 90          degree *Vichy* mineral baths, 104 degree hot pool,          Olympic size 25 meter pool and 700 private acres            with trails and roads for walking and hiking.              There is a user friendly waterfall 1/2 hour upstream        in the middle of the property. Also massage therapy,        herbal facials and hot stone massage are offered            from 8AM to 8PM. *

* Please note, once you see signs for Vichy Springs  Road on U.S. Highway 101 you will also see California  Historic Landmark signs -brown and tan with the  California Bear at the top- that will guide you at  every turn to Vichy Springs Resort. Do not leave  U.S. Highway 101 until these signs appear * From San Francisco -S of Ukiah ? 1 Hrs 45 Min from  Golden Gate Bridge.  Take Hwy. 101 North to Ukiah  From Hwy. 101 take the Vichy Springs  Road/Central Ukiah Exit. Turn right onto Vichy  Springs Road (you will drive past pear orchards  and vineyards) After a bend in the road  -1.3 miles from Hwy. 101-, turn right to  continue on Vichy Springs Road.  Vichy Springs Resort is 1.7 miles east  on the right hand side * From Eureka -North of Ukiah- 1 1/2 Hrs  Take Hwy. 101 South to Ukiah  From Hwy. 101 take the Vichy Springs Road/  Central Ukiah Exit.
