Location. The Bienville House is located in the historic French Quarter of New Orleans, La. The excitement of Bourbon Street and the antiques and art galleries of Royal Street are just three blocks away, as are Jackson Square and Café Du Monde, where beignets and chicory coffee are served 24 hours daily.
Hotel Features. The Bienville House, originally a riverfront warehouse, was converted into a hotel in 1965. Hand-painted murals grace the walls of the lobby, designed to resemble a gracious French Quarter manor. Cookies and lemonade are served here each afternoon. The Louisiana Heritage Café and School of Cooking serves Creole cuisine, with dishes such as "Rajun Cajun" omelettes and seafood beignets with remoulade sauce. The school offers entertaining culinary lessons and teaches the secrets to preparing Cajun favorites. Meeting rooms accommodating up to 100 people are available. The historic hotel features four sundecks, access to a nearby fitness center and a romantic tropical flagstone courtyard and pool. Pets are welcome here for a fee, and the hotel provides pet beds, a bowl and treats upon request.

Guestrooms. Guestrooms at the Bienville House feature four-poster, triple-sheeted mahogany rice beds and down pillows. Select rooms feature views of the Mississippi River or French Quarter from wrought-iron balconies. Bathrooms boast spa bathrobes and Gilchrist & Soames toiletries. Wireless Internet access is available for a fee.

Expert Tip. A jazz parade, with two shows nightly Wednesday through Saturday, runs up and down Decatur Street, directly in front of the hotel.

Renovation Notice:
The hotel is currently undergoing renovations to its pool and courtyard. During this time, guests have access to the rooftop pool at the Hotel Monteleon. The estimated completion date is August 22, 2007. The Louisiana Heritage Café & School of Cooking is scheduled to be completed September 30, 2007. These dates are subject to change.
