Location. The Inn at Grey Gables is located on the south side of Round Lake in Charlevoix, Mich. Just three blocks from Lake Charlevoix and less than one mile from Lake Michigan, the Inn enjoys a comfortable setting in a quaint town of 3,000. From beaches to rolling hills, autumn colors to spring flowers, northern Michigan is a scenic adventure. The Castle Farms, three miles from the inn, are French Chateaux-style buildings that play host to weddings and several popular festivals including the Venetian Festival and a winter wine festival. Galleries, boutiques, renowned golf courses, ski resorts, taverns and eateries are all located nearby. The surface temperature of Lake Michigan can reach the seventies in the summer, making for aquatic fun.
Hotel Features. Constructed in 1887 as part of a wealthy summer home association called the Belvedere Club, this historic inn features a wraparound porch and a front lawn shaded by large trees. Upon arrival guests are greeted with warm spiced wine, hot apple cider and fresh lemonade, with wine and cheese served in the evenings. A full breakfast is prepared each morning and features coffee, fruit, muffins and hot specialties like apple cinnamon French toast and quiche.

Guestrooms. The innkeepers maintain seven guestrooms with unique décor and private baths. Standard amenities include cable television and high-speed Internet access.

Expert Tip. Beaver Island, located 32 miles northwest of Charlevoix, is a popular summer destination and America's only former kingdom. A two-hour ferry ride from Charlevoix allows visitors the opportunity to experience the isolated beaches, campsites and hiking trails.

From the Detroit Metro Airport:
Follow I-75 and take Exit 282 - M-32/Gaylord/Alpena.
Head west on M-32 and continue for approximately 29 miles.
Just after the town of East Jordan, turn right onto MI-66 and follow it north for approximately 13 miles to the town of Charlevoix.
Turn right onto US-31 (Bridge Street).
After approximately one mile, turn right onto Belvedere Avenue.
The Inn is just a little beyond the tennis courts.
Guests will see the sign out front, and there is plenty of parking behind the inn.
