The Lake View Hotel, located on Mackinac Island near the Ferry Docks, is a distinctive and historical hotel only open from early spring to late fall. Victorian cottages and a historic village exude 19th Century charm. There are no cars on this island, but guests may get around using the horse-drawn taxis that serve as public transport on the island. The Lake View Hotel is Mackinac Island's oldest operating hotel and is a registered Michigan Historic Site. Located where Michigan's peninsulas meet, Mackinac Island is a peaceful and quiet destination, and at the center of the Lake View Hotel a beautiful atrium encloses an indoor heated pool, whirlpool and sauna.
