Missoula: Practicalities
Greyhound, Rimrock and Intermountain share the bus depot at 1660 W Broadway (tel 406/549-2339). Motels along East Broadway, between downtown and campus, include the Downtown Motel at no. 502 (tel 406/549-5191; $35-50); the Campus Inn at no. 744 (tel 406/549-5134 or 1-800/232-8013; $75-100); and, for more luxury, the spacious Holiday Inn Express Riverside at no. 1021 (tel 406/549-7600; $75-100). Goldsmith's B&B , 809 E Front St (tel 406/721-6732; $75-100/$100-130), beside the river across from the campus, offers comfortable rooms and award-winning food. The only campground in Missoula is the Missoula KOA , 3695 Tina Ave (exit 101 off I-90) - just follow the signs from W Broadway. Sites are $25.Morning espressos and gooey pastries are the specialty at Break Espresso , 432 N Higgins St (tel 406/728-7300); you can pick up the best picnic lunch in town over the road at Wordens deli, Higgins and Spruce streets (tel 406/549-1293). For tasty Italian food, join the inevitable line at Zimorino's Red Pies Over Montana , 424 N Higgins St (tel 406/728-6686); try the white pizza or any of the specialty sauces. The Mustard Seed , 419 W Front St (tel 406/728-7825), is popular for its tasty pan-Asian food, including a passable sushi - no mean feat in Montana, and The Raven , 130 E Broadway (tel 406/829-8188), with good coffee and a great jukebox is one of the best hangouts in town.
