Reno's Cannon International airport is a couple of miles southeast of downtown, a twenty-minute ride on local bus #24. Greyhound buses use the terminal at 155 Stevenson St; daily Amtrak trains call at 135 E Commercial Row downtown, six hours out of San Francisco en route for Salt Lake City.The downtown visitor center , in the National Bowling Stadium at 300 N Center St (daily 8am-6pm; tel 1-888/HIT-RENO), should be able to help you find an inexpensive place to stay , though rates tend to double at weekends. All the big casinos offer accommodation - the pick of them are the Atlantis , 3800 S Virginia St (tel 775/825-4700; $50-75), Silver Legacy , 407 N Virginia St (tel 775/329-4777 or 1-800/687-7733, ; $50-75), and Circus Circus , 500 N Sierra St (tel 775/329-0711 or 1-800/648-5010; $50-75) - while the Gatekeeper Inn , 221 W Fifth St (tel 775/786-3500 or 1-800/822-3504; $35-50), is a clean, safe and reliable motel. Reno's best buffet is at the Eldorado , 345 N Virginia St (tel 775/786-5700 or 1-800/648-5966; $50-75).
