Morningside Heights, just north of the Upper West Side, is the last gasp of Manhattan's wealth before Harlem. Marked at the edge by the monolithic Cathedral of St John the Divine , the area is filled largely with students and professors from Columbia University , as well as middle-class families and a mix of whites, blacks, Latinos and Asians.
