Cultural attractions such as the Tennis Hall of Fame and the Museum of Newport History are less than one mile from the Black Duck Inn. Newport's Cliff Walk, which passes many of the mansions and stretches along the Easton Bay and the Rhode Island Sound, can be accessed a little over one mile from the inn.
Hotel Features. Named for a 1929 "Rum Runner" vessel beloved by the local community, Black Duck Inn offers guests friendly personal service against a rich historical background. Intimate tables for two grace the breakfast room, where a continental breakfast is put out daily. Guests can often be found reclining in a large common sitting room. Side-street parking is free.
Guestrooms. Each guestroom at the Black Duck Inn is individually decorated in romantic Laura Ashley tradition with cheerful floral patterns and with blue, yellow, and pink pastels. All accommodations feature cable televisions and direct-dial telephones. Some guestrooms feature private jetted spa tubs and fireplaces.
Expert Tip. Walking tours, boat tours, and even helicopter tours abound in the town of Newport. All offering different themes, including mansion, ghost, lighthouse, and historical, guests should not have a problem finding one that interests them.
