Location.Wild Dunes Resort is a 1,600-acre oceanfront resort located in Isle of Palms, S.C. This resort rests on the tip of the Isle of Palms barrier island 12 miles from Charleston, S.C. Two miles of unspoiled white-sand beaches offers the perfect venue for swimming, strolling, or laying out on the beach.
Features. Wild Dunes Resort offers four eateries including a pizzeria, Italian restaurant, bar and grill, and snack bar. Meeting and banquet facilities offer more than 16,000 square feet of versatile meeting space, and complimentary Internet access is available in public areas. Wild Dunes Resort offers over 20 pools throughout the resort, and guests can take advantage of an on-site health club, which contains cardio machines, weight machines, free weights, women's and men's steam rooms, a sauna, and massage rooms. At the Tennis Center, players can use one of 17 Har-Tru courts while taking advantage of UPSTA-certified instruction and organized tournaments. Two golf courses, designed by Tom Fazio, offer a total of 36 holes of championship golf amongst sand dunes and the Atlantic Ocean. The Island Day Spa & Salon offers specialized facials and body treatments, as well as signature hair care. A children's and family recreation program is designed to entertain toddlers, youngsters, teens and adults.

Guestrooms. Wild Dunes Resort is comprised of the 93-room Boardwalk inn and villas. Guestrooms at the inn offer down comforters and bathrobes, while the two- to four-bedroom villas boast fully equipped kitchens and balconies. The villas feature separate living rooms, dining rooms, washers and dryers, and either a screened-in porches or open decks.

Expert Tip. The Acme Cantina is said to be one of the oldest buildings on the island and is home to an array of specialty meals and drinks.

Renovation Notice:
 This resort is currently building The Village at Wild Dunes near the Boardwalk Inn, which will offer studio, one-, two- or three-bedroom condominiums. The Village at Wild Dunes is scheduled to open in two phases, the first in fall 2007 and the second in fall 2008. The construction site is fenced-off and will not interfere with resort amenities and services.

From the Charleston International Airport:
Take the airport exit on Ward Avenue.
 Turn right on Fain Boulevard/Fain Road.
Continue on Core Avenue.
Turn left on West Aviation Avenue.
Take Interstate 26 East.
Take the #212 Exit.
Merge onto Interstate 526.
Take the US-17 Exit.
Turn left (North) on US-17.
Turn right on Isle of Palms Connector (Highway 517).
Continue on SC-517 over the Intracoastal Waterway onto Isle of Palms.
Turn left at the foot of the bridge onto Palm Boulevard (Highway 703).
Continue following Palm Boulevard North, parallel to the ocean.
Follow the Wild Dunes Resort directional sign to turn right on Palm Boulevard extension.
Follow the road to the stop gate.
Turn left into Wild Dunes Resort Reception Center.
