Greyhound arrives at 702 N Chaparral St downtown. The visitor center (tel 361/881-1888 or 1-800/678-OCEAN, ) is further along N Chaparral at no. 1823 (daily 9am-5pm; tel 361/561-2000 or 1-800/766-2322). A daytime trolley (tel 361/289-2600; 50¢) connects the major attractions with area hotels (except Sun); other services include a free downtown "Beach Shuttle" tram service (summer only) and a harbor ferry from the art museum to the Texas State Aquarium ($1).Budget motels , inaccessible without a car, line Leopard Street in the northwest. Along N Shoreline Boulevard, the Bayfront Inn at no. 601 is a good deal (tel 361/883-7271 or 1-800/456-2293; $50-75), while the Omni Bayfront , at no. 900, offers rooms with a view of the water (tel 361/887-1600 or 1-800/843-6664, ; $100-130). Downtown Corpus's main concentration of restaurants is in Water Street Market at 309 N Water St, where the Water Street Oyster Bar (tel 361/881-9448) serves fresh seafood. Wahoos , 415 N Water St (tel 361/888-8522), serves excellent Cajun food to a background of zydeco beats. Just across the JFK Causeway is Snoopy's at 13313 S Padre Island Drive (tel 361/949-8815), with ridiculously good fried seafood and crabmeat-stuffed jalapeño peppers.
