Lubbock: Arrival, information and getting around
Loop 289 circles Lubbock proper, with the airport (tel 806/775-2035) a few minutes north; city buses don't come out here, so taxis are the only option (Yellow Taxi tel 806/765-7474) to downtown costs $10. Buses come in downtown at 1313 13th St (tel 806/765-6641). The citibus system (tel 806/762-0111, ) runs commuter routes within the Loop, stopping at around 6.15pm (Mon-Sat only). The visitor center is at 1301 Broadway (Mon-Fri 8am-5pm; tel 806/747-5232 or 1-800/692-4035, ).
